Splendid!! Professor Elemental
Jake von Slatt — Fri, 07/08/2011 - 07:57
I was sorely dissapointed that I was not able to spend time with the lovely Professor Elemental at the Steampunk World's Fair this year. I only got the briefest of "Hellos!" in as we passed in the hallway heading to our events. It's nice to see that the Professor is doing well, in fact, everything seems SPLENDID!!
Fanboy Confessional on SPACE TV covers Steampunk
Jake von Slatt — Wed, 05/25/2011 - 12:00
Last year a film crew from Canada rode down to The Steampunk World's Fair with me in the bus. They spent the weekend documenting the event and the result is set to air in Canada on July 13 on SPACE channel. It looks like a great show!

Oxford Steampunk Exhibition Documentary
Jake von Slatt — Wed, 11/04/2009 - 11:24
A very nice documentary about the Steampunk exhibition at the Oxford Museum of the History of Science.
This exhibition was curated by Art Donovan who you will recall did a similar gallery show in the Hamptons last year.

Shout-out from Attack of the Show
Jake von Slatt — Thu, 09/24/2009 - 08:02
Oh hai! we got a nice little shout-out from G4's Attack of the Show! (This is from 2007 but it apparently aired again last night - can anyone tell me what episode?)
Modern Alchemy - The building of Ignatius The Firepig.
Jake von Slatt — Wed, 06/24/2009 - 11:44
You may recall Patrick Johnson's marvelous short film Granite Copper Motor from earlier this year. Recently Patrick spent some time with my friends David, Dennis, and Brady, while they designed and constructed a steam boiler dubbed 'Ignatius the Firepig.' I do so love Patrick's calm and peaceful treatment which is the antithesis of todays frenetic, falsely dramatic, cable television style.
Enjoy!

G4 Underground on Steampunk
Jake von Slatt — Mon, 04/13/2009 - 09:37
UPDATE: Aw hey! No fair! They pulled the full story from Youtube and the segment on the G4 site just has the Abney Park part. Boo.
G4 Underground does Steampunk! Wow this came out pretty nicely. I don't look like a complete idiot and all of my Abney Park friends look fabulous as usual!
A producer showed up at the Workshop with a camera less than a day after G4 first emailed me - I had no time to clean up and I barely got the car out of storage and running. The engine was still a little balky after its winter rest and it chose the moment the producer stood up to get a shot to start missing! I nearly tossed him out on the pavement!
