Brass Dragon!
Jake von Slatt — Sat, 12/12/2009 - 16:41
Back in August I received a slightly odd email:
Phil is drawing a cover for Windycon's Blaylock short story collection, and he sort of used you as the guy building a mechanical dragon in his garage... Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time.
If it wasn't, and you'd rather we made it not look quite like you, please e-mail me and let me know!
(I know we should have asked first, but we got carried away... sorry!)
Thanks--
--Kaja
Of course I was deeply flattered and quickly responded that I, in fact, felt honored that they chose to use my likeness!

How beautiful and cool!!!
ASterling — Sun, 12/20/2009 - 14:31How beautiful and cool!!! This is just so awesome. Jim is my MAN - and this will be the best book, I'm certain.
Agree with all the above.
Technogeek — Mon, 12/14/2009 - 12:38... that it's an honor to act as a model for Phil and Kaja, especially for something so appropriate... and that it is appropriate to ask permission before publishing a borrowing of someone's likeness, in any media.
And that it's a great sketch. I've mostly stopped buying prints, since discovering that I can afford original art, but this is indeed tempting.
WoW
Nynaeve — Sat, 12/12/2009 - 19:31That's gorgeous! Absolutely love the detail, (though I wish I could see more wing.)
Wonderful job!
Awesome!
SurfPenguin — Tue, 12/15/2009 - 00:53When I was a little nerd and saw his comics in Dragon Magazine, I wanted to be Phil Foglio when I grew up. Seeing this reminds me that that particular desire hasn't changed :)
