Huh. I didn’t think that was going to work. These are temporary printed gears for the feed/threading drive on my lathe to use while I await delivery of new ones.
First roller done but it’s got a .002” taper so tomorrow’s task is lathe leveling.
Re-learning the lathe after 15 years without one.
Finished the body for the #ratwelder! The louvers look too nice though, debating whether to shoot them in red primer or just let them age naturally outside.
I hereby christen this fucking thing “The Beholder“.
Not quite a leg-vise, but it will do and it was free.
Just need to wait for the paint to dry and then I’ll grease it up and install it on the bench in the blacksmith “shop”.
The machining took way longer than I wanted, all I had was 3” and my lathe would only take off .005” per pass. Tomorrow’s gonna be all wire brushing and painting.
