Quote from L.A. Bike Show Website "What is it? Some bike contest entries defied classification and description..."
We know what it is, don't we folks? It's Steampunk!
This is the home of Dave Geertsen's home made metal sculpture on wheels, the wheels are straight but his custom motorcycles are anything but off the shelf. If you have a creative idea or a custom motor bike part you would like to have made or created by a true artist, metal worker, craftsman and biker you have come to the right place, the home of bentwheel. Welding
zahal — Mon, 09/21/2009 - 10:34Jake,
I was thinking about buying an arc welder and learning how to weld. What type would you recommend for the projects that you have presented on your blog (desk, bike frames, etc.)?
Thanks

Jake von Slatt — Mon, 09/21/2009 - 12:26Start with either an Oxy/Acetylene torch or a MIG welder. The torch is far more versatile as you can braze, weld, and cut with it - but MIG welding is not much harder than using a hot glue gun. Take a class and see which you like better. I had an Oxy/Acetylene rig for fifteen years before I bought my MIG for the trailer project.
Thanks! That sounds way more

That sounds way more dangerous than what i had in mind, but way more fun.
