I’m Jake von Slatt, a maker, tinkerer, fabricator, and all around techno dilettante living and creating just outside of Boston, Massachusetts. I’m interested in the blending of 19th century aesthetics and technology with the modern world and showcasing projects of that ilk here on SteampunkWorkshop.com. While I eschew the temptation to rigidly define the term “Steampunk,” I do know that it has something to do with the intersection of technology and romance.
I have been surprised and immensely gratified by the interest of people and the press in my hobbies. One of the more common requests I get is for hi-resolution images for print publications. Below you’ll find a selection of hi-res images suitable for print and web publication. You are also welcome to use any other images you find on this site (in posts authored by me that lack any other attribution) under the Creative Common, Attribution, Share-alike, Non-commercial license.
Some of what you see here are pictures of my school bus camper conversion project, details of which can be seen on another of my websites: www.vonslatt.com If you’re interested in what I’m like on camera here’s a couple of my TV appearances:

Dear friends,
your Russian comrades are really interested to create a new steampunk board-game. It calls Parozemelye (Steamland).
We spent a lot of time to make it real and now it is almost done. The first edition is in progress. But we need your help to make real this idea. We need your support. Even 1 euro is significant for the project.
Please do not be indifferent to this begining and Steam God will bless you!

Hi Jake,
How about putting the same principles of Steampunk and turning it into a entirely new genre- Silkpunk. It’s basically feudal Asian theme instead of industrial Victorian. You can focus on materials such as silk, bamboo, paper, feathers, ox sinew, gunpowder, magnets, and play around with the idea of kites, fireworks, printing blocks, qi, etc, etc. Just some food for thought.

Dear Jake von Slatt,
I am Captain of a crew of ner-do-wells that are opening a Steampunk themed bar in Bristol. As far as we are aware it is the first of its kind in Britain and we were wondering if you could help us by promoting our crowdfunder? The bar will go ahead as planned if we do not reach our target, it will just put us back by some time.
If you do help us out with a shameless plug you will receive an automatic invitation to the opening party as well as a clockwork rose members pin (it is not a members only club the pin will just grant you free access to any events that would usually have an entry fee).
Below is the links to our crowdfunder and social media pages:
